The Mares Wave is a lightweight full foot fin with effectively channel style blade that works by allowing the blade to flex into a U shape as you kick, cupping the water and concentrating it into a more focused jet of water that provides better propulsion. The foot pocket is made using soft rubber that is carefully rounded at the edges to help prevent soreness and rubbing. The foot pocket is open at the toes to allow for a better fit but also help to reduce suction when taking the fins and also a grip tab on the heel to make fitting over the heel easier. The blade has stiffening reinforcement bars down the side of the fin that act to control the way the fin flexs and also helps to prevent water splilling over the edges of the blade so that efficiency is maintained. The blade incorporates a number of materials in diferent thicknesses to control how much and where the blade can flex for optimal propulsion. A harder material at the edges provides strength whilst a large rubber X shape allows the blade to twist. The large rubber section in the middle does most of the work to capture and channel water off the end of the blade. These full foot fins can be worn with barefeet, for a more comfortable and warmer dive you can wear the Fourth Element Finsock which reduce the chance of blisters, allergic reactions, cutting feet entering/exiting the water and having cold feet when you're in the water.
